I began my professional career in the IT training industry, where I designed and rolled out large scale instructor-led certification programs and customised training solutions to many corporate businesses in the UK. This role offered me the opportunity me to work with some highly specialist technology professionals, as we designed and delivered bespoke training courses to 1000’s of members of IT teams. This role provided a unique opportunity for a “non-techie” to gain a high-level understanding of how IT departments were structured and the roles played by each of the members of those teams. It also gave me a broad overview of how the dependencies of each area of technology fitted together. With this knowledge, I became very interested in Project Management, Business Analysis and Technical Writing, where I found my greatest enjoyment and I decided to broaden my horizons with a career move into recruitment. Where I could further engage with PM and BA candidates at a greater level than most recruiters given my background. I now have over 20 years experience of recruiting in this space and I am highly networked across the Project/Product Delivery markets across Australia.
In 2015, I was inspired to found a recruitment business that could offer a far deeper level of specialism than what was available to businesses in Australia. I wanted to create more meaningful relationships with clients and candidates with less feeling of recruitment as a “commodity”, where our consultant’s partner with clients to provide true market insight and the deepest professional networks available. I began the Method Recruitment journey in January 2016 and was quickly joined by the other co-founders Ben and Greg. Method Recruitment is now one of the largest specialist IT and Corporate Services recruitment businesses in Australia and will continue to innovate and bring fresh ideas to the industry
Outside of work, I have 2 children that take up a lot of my spare time. I enjoy taking them away at the weekend for trips to the coast or to regional Victoria.
