Our client is a top 10 professional services firm, now seeking a proactive and client-focused Bookkeeper
to deliver outsourced bookkeeping and finance support to a broad range of businesses across multiple industries.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper from a public practice who enjoys variety, building client relationships, and working autonomously while being supported by a collaborative team. As this company focuses on the mid-market; it would also be an opportunity for anyone coming from smaller practices to gain experience working on larger client accounts.
The Role
Working within a dedicated bookkeeping team, you'll become a trusted contact for your portfolio of clients, helping ensure their day-to-day finance operations run smoothly and accurately.
Key responsibilities may include (but not limited to) the following:
- Providing an end-to-end bookkeeping service
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- General ledger reviews and maintenance
- BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement
- Client invoicing and payment runs
- Supporting payroll activities where required
- Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
- Identifying process improvements and efficiencies
- Maintaining accurate records and meeting reporting deadlines
The Person
The ideal candidate will join bringing to the table the following skills and prior experience:
- Minimum 2 years' bookkeeping experience
- Experience managing multiple clients or entities simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and Australian compliance requirements
- Experience preparing and lodging BAS and IAS
- Strong working knowledge of Xero (highly desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
This is a genuine hybrid working opportunity with 3 days in the office (Melbourne CBD) and 2 days working from home. Typical office hours are 8:45am to 5:15pm. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity and as such requires someone with full working rights in Australia (citizenship or Permanent Residency).
