Our client is a global mid-tier professional services firm, with offices in the heart of Melbourne CBD.
This is a newly created position which would entail managing the Bookkeeping needs of a portfolio of clients (small, medium and large-sized firms), as well as leading a team of 2 Senior Bookkeepers.
This is not a typical AP/AR bookkeeping position - Your main responsibilities for your clients will be around management reporting and payroll. Candidates applying should come from a background in public practice, ideally with people management experience.
The Role
Key responsibilities may include (but not limited to) the following:

Manage client portfolio and ensure timely, high-quality service delivery. Clients will vary both in size and industry.

Oversee core bookkeeping services including reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll, management reporting.

Review work of team members to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency

Plan workflow, manage budgets, and monitor team performance

Lead, mentor, and develop team members (both on and offshore).

Collaborate with internal teams to deliver seamless client outcomes

Identify and support business development opportunities
The Person
The ideal candidate will join bringing to the table the following skills and prior experience:

7+ years’ experience in bookkeeping/accounting in a client-facing environment (public practice or professional services)

Proven experience managing multiple clients of different sizes and industries

People management experience
-
Payroll experience would be highly preferred
