We are partnering exclusively with a major Australian organisation to appoint a Senior Program Manager to lead a significant, multi-year Cyber Uplift Program.
This is a senior delivery leadership role with accountability for an annual portfolio of approximately $15m–$20m, spanning multiple cyber, technology and operational workstreams across both IT and OT environments.
The role will sit at the centre of a highly visible regulatory and cyber transformation agenda, working closely with Cyber leadership, technology and operational teams, executive stakeholders and a number of strategic delivery partners.
The role
You will take end-to-end accountability for translating an approved cyber roadmap and investment case into a structured, sequenced and predictable delivery program.
Leading a team of Project Managers and specialist resources, you will be responsible for ensuring delivery remains on track across scope, schedule, budget, risk, dependencies and benefits.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of a complex, multi-stream Cyber Uplift Program.
- Owning the integrated program plan, roadmap, milestones, RAID, dependencies and change control.
- Leading and coordinating Project Managers, Cyber SMEs, Change and specialist delivery resources.
- Managing delivery across a largely outsourced technology environment, including major strategic and specialist partners.
- Holding vendors accountable for delivery commitments, commercial outcomes, quality and issue resolution.
- Working across Cyber, Digital, Technology, Operations, Finance and Procurement to resolve dependencies and delivery blockers.
- Providing concise, decision-focused reporting to senior executives, the CISO, Board and Audit & Risk forums.
- Managing forecasts, actuals, commitments, EAC and commercial impacts against approved funding.
- Identifying risks early and confidently challenging senior stakeholders, technical SMEs and delivery partners where required.
- Driving greater delivery predictability and continuously improving program ways of working.
About you:
This role requires someone who can operate comfortably between executive-level governance and detailed program delivery. You need to be able to zoom out to communicate the overall program position to senior stakeholders, while equally being able to zoom in when delivery issues require detail.
You will ideally bring:
- Extensive experience leading large, complex technology, cyber, infrastructure, risk or regulatory programs.
- Strong experience within cybersecurity uplift, regulatory transformation, GRC, IAM or closely related environments.
- Exposure to both IT and OT environments would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ownership of significant program budgets, ideally $15m+.
- Strong program governance, financial management, RAID, dependency and change-control capability.
- Experience managing large systems integrators, offshore delivery teams and specialist technology partners.
- Confidence operating with C-suite, GM, Board, Audit & Risk and other senior governance forums.
- Enough cyber and infrastructure knowledge to engage credibly with Cyber SMEs, architects and business owners and challenge assumptions when required.
- Experience operating within complex regulatory environments.
- A calm, pragmatic and transparent leadership style.
- The ability to hold your own with domain experts without needing to be the deepest technical specialist in the room.
This is not a hands-on cyber role, but equally, we are not looking for a generalist Program Manager with limited exposure to cyber. The successful person will understand the language, risk and regulatory context well enough to lead the delivery effectively.
The environment will suit someone who is direct, composed and commercially minded, communicates openly about delivery pressures and is comfortable challenging stakeholders when something is putting the program at risk.
This is a highly visible program with significant executive attention and the opportunity to lead one of the organisation’s key transformation and regulatory priorities.
