Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for retirement village operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and organisational policies.
- Manage month-end and year-end processes efficiently.
- Provide accurate financial reporting to support organisational decision-making.
- Support audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
- Maintain robust financial controls and improve existing processes.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in financial accounting, ideally within the not-for-profit or senior living sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with property management accounting or retirement village finance.
- Knowledge of grants and funding management.
- Familiarity with operational systems specific to aged care or retirement living.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting roles.
- Prior experience working in not-for-profit organisations is highly advantageous.
