Our client, a leading not-for-profit organisation based in Melbourne CBD, is seeking an experienced AP/AR lead to oversee end-to-end finance operations within a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation. This role will lead a high-performing team while ensuring efficient, accurate, and well-controlled financial processes that support both day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making.

 

This is a hybrid position with 2-3 days per week expected onsite (Melbourne CBD) with the remaining 2-3 days per week available for you to work remotely from home.

 

The Role

Key responsibilities may include (but not limited to) the following:

  • Lead Finance Operations:  Oversee AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong controls.
  • Manage & Develop Team:  Lead, coach, and support a high-performing finance team, ensuring effective workload management and delivery.
  • Ensure Financial Control & Compliance:  Maintain robust internal controls, support audits, and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Support Strategy & Performance:  Provide financial insights, contribute to budgeting and forecasting, and support business decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:  Partner with internal teams and external parties to deliver effective financial operations and advice.
  • Reporting & Systems:  Oversee financial reporting, improve systems and processes, and drive automation and continuous improvement.


The Candidate

The ideal candidate will join bringing the following skills and prior experience to the table:

  • Proven leadership experience within finance operations
  • Strong background across AP, AR, payroll, and financial controls
  • Experience with financial systems, reporting, and process improvement
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
