In this pivotal role, you will work closely with leadership across the organisation to develop and implement practical, commercially sound people solutions. You will balance strategic influence with hands-on delivery, managing complex people matters while supporting organisational development initiatives. This position offers the chance to influence workforce planning, enhance leadership capability, and ensure the organisation's compliance with employment legislation—all within a collaborative and values-driven environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a business partnering or generalist HR role
  • Strong ability to manage complex employee relations cases with confidence
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Analytical mindset with the capacity to interpret data, policies, and legislation effectively
  • Sound judgement, resilience, and strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills to support leadership development
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience working within the not-for-profit sector
  • Knowledge of current HR systems and analytics tools
  • Project management or change management experience
  • Familiarity with Australian employment laws and policies

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in HR, with exposure to senior stakeholder engagement and complex employee matters
  • Prior experience in a not-for-profit or public sector environment is advantageous

Other Requirements

  • Ability to commit to a 12-month fixed-term contract
  • Willingness to undertake occasional organisational travel if required
  • Relevant HR certifications or memberships will be viewed favourably
