Data Integration Lead | Manager

Contract Type: 12 month day rate contract

Position Overview

The Technology Hub enables the organisation’s businesses to achieve their technology-driven goals. Work within the Technology Hub spans initiatives such as supporting the enterprise through technology transformation, building or adopting new platforms, protecting against risk, and delivering valuable data insights that enhance overall technology capability.

The Data Warehousing / Business Intelligence (DW/BI) team is responsible for designing and maintaining data warehouses, integrating and cleansing data from multiple sources, and optimising data storage and retrieval. The team delivers reports, dashboards, and predictive models to provide actionable insights that support decision?making and improve business performance. The team collaborates closely with cross?functional stakeholders, ensures data security and compliance, and provides user training and ongoing support.

As a Data Integration Manager, you will lead data warehousing and analytics teams to deliver high?quality data acquisition, storage, transformation, management, insights, and reporting solutions. Working within a DevOps environment, you will have end?to?end accountability for the design, development, deployment, and support of data assets. You will manage resources, set priorities, define strategic direction for data initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross?functional teams to ensure data integrity and optimal use of data assets across the organisation.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead and deliver advanced data integration initiatives.
  • Design and implement end?to?end data services solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and integrity across all data sources.
  • Partner with business units and IT teams to align data initiatives with organisational goals.
  • Support and enhance data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Translate data services requirements into strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of accurate, scalable, and actionable data solutions.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers in their technical and professional development.

What We’re Looking For

Technology-Specific Experience

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in integration architecture and design across cloud data platforms, with hands?on delivery of batch, streaming, and event?driven integrations into data warehouses or lakehouse architectures.
  • Strong experience with Databricks ingestion patterns and tooling, including Lakeflow Connect, Delta Lake, Auto Loader, Delta Live Tables, Structured Streaming, and schema evolution/compatibility.
  • Experience with orchestration and ELT/ETL tools and practices (e.g. Airflow, Azure Data Factory, dbt), Git?based CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure?as?code (e.g. Terraform).
  • API and event contract design experience using OpenAPI/Swagger, AsyncAPI, Avro, Protobuf, or JSON Schema, including schema registries and versioning strategies.
  • Ability to design reusable data engineering frameworks supporting bronze, silver, and gold data layers.

Industry & Domain Experience

  • Experience designing ingestion patterns for enterprise source systems across business functions such as HR, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Risk.
  • Understanding of data security, governance, and compliance best practices, with awareness of privacy regulations (e.g. Australian Privacy Principles, GDPR).
  • Experience working with internal enterprise stakeholders and complex, multi?source production data environments.
  • Senior?level experience in DW/BI and data engineering roles, with leadership or lead?engineer responsibilities.

Other Role Requirements

  • Strong analytical and structured problem?solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience assessing and prioritising AI and advanced analytics opportunities based on value, feasibility, risk, and delivery constraints.
  • Proven capability in process mapping, requirements definition, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with senior leaders.
  • Clear and confident communication skills suitable for executive, business, and delivery audiences.
  • Relevant tertiary education in technology, business, or a related discipline, with foundational AI or data training.
