The opportunity

Our client is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Data Engineer at the start of their career to build a strong foundation in data engineering. You will work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to support the development, testing and maintenance of data pipelines and reporting solutions.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn modern data technologies, has a basic understanding of databases and programming concepts, and brings strong problem-solving and communication skills. It is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to end-to-end data engineering projects, from requirements gathering through to solution delivery, including design, development, testing and deployment of scalable solutions
• Build and maintain high-performance, reliable data pipelines using SQL, ETL frameworks and modern cloud-native tools
• Develop and manage large-scale data lakes and data warehouses, ensuring efficient ingestion, transformation and integration of data
• Use analytics tools and best practices to help clients derive meaningful insights and align data models with business goals
• Ensure data quality, integrity and governance through effective monitoring, validation and logging
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Participate in code reviews, write clean and maintainable code, and follow coding and documentation standards
• Stay across trends in cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Big Data technologies, applying new ideas to enhance solutions

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline (preferred)
