Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end accounts receivable and payable processes, ensuring timely collections and payments
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, maintaining employee records and ensuring compliance with legislation and awards
  • Support payroll-related statutory reporting, such as Single Touch Payroll, BAS, FBT, and GST
  • Reconcile payroll reports and investigate discrepancies promptly
  • As your understanding deepens, take on wider management accounting duties including budgeting, forecast preparation, variance analysis, and financial reporting
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities with a focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Provide meaningful financial insights and commentary to support management decision-making
  • Support business units with financial analysis, cost management, and operational performance reviews
  • Contribute to process improvements, system upgrades, and internal controls to optimise reporting and payroll workflows

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing payroll and accounts receivable/payable within a professional services or similar setting
  • Experience processing end-to-end payroll, with strong knowledge of Australian legislation, taxation, superannuation, and compliance
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with stakeholders across all levels
  • Natural curiosity and a proactive mindset to learn and expand your responsibilities
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage deadlines and juggle multiple priorities efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and professionally

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline
  • CPA/CA qualification or working towards professional membership
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in management accounting and payroll processing
