An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced contract Program Director to lead a major enterprise billing system transformation for a well-established Australian organisation.

Having reached the final stages of selecting a new billing platform, the business is preparing to mobilise a significant multi-year transformation program. This role will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery, leading the program from mobilisation through to cutover, stabilisation and operational readiness.

This is a genuine opportunity to build a program from the ground up, establishing governance, shaping delivery, building the team and partnering closely with executive stakeholders and implementation vendors to ensure a successful outcome. The role is responsible for end-to-end program leadership, governance, financial management, stakeholder engagement and vendor oversight throughout the migration.

The Role:

Reporting into senior technology leadership, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale enterprise billing system migration.
  • Establish program governance, delivery frameworks, reporting and decision-making processes.
  • Develop and manage the program roadmap, ensuring delivery against scope, budget and timelines.
  • Lead vendor and implementation partner relationships, ensuring successful delivery outcomes.
  • Oversee program risks, issues, dependencies and financial performance.
  • Drive data migration, integration, testing, cutover planning and post-go-live stabilisation.
  • Build and lead a high-performing delivery team, with approximately 5-6 direct reports as the program scales.
  • Work closely with executive stakeholders across both business and technology to ensure alignment throughout the transformation.
About You:
  • Proven experience leading large-scale Billing System Migration programs.
  • A strong background delivering complex enterprise technology transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams, vendors and implementation partners.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, data migration, testing and operational readiness.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing program teams.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery leadership.

Experience within Energy & Utilities will be highly regarded, although candidates from other complex, customer-centric environments are encouraged to apply.

What's on Offer:

  • Initial 12-month contract with an expected program duration of at least 18 months.
  • Melbourne CBD location.
  • Hybrid working arrangement (Tuesday-Thursday in the office).
  • Opportunity to lead a business-critical transformation from the earliest stages of delivery.
  • Two-stage interview process with an anticipated August start.

If you've successfully delivered enterprise billing platform migrations and are looking to lead a high-profile transformation program, we'd love to hear from you.
