QA Test Engineer | Health-Tech SaaS Startup | Hybrid (Melbourne)

I'm partnering with an exciting health-tech startup to find their next QA Test Engineer. This company has spun out of an established, market-leading provider in their sector and is building a next-generation SaaS platform that digitises and automates an end-to-end clinical workflow. Think precision meets practicality, with a genuinely meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

They're a small, collaborative team and this hire will work closely with the QA Lead, CTO, and product engineers to help shape the quality function as the platform scales.

The Role

This is a hands-on QA Engineer position covering both manual and automated testing across a modern full-stack environment. You'll contribute to test planning, build and maintain automated test scripts, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and own defect tracking through to resolution. There's real scope to influence how QA is done here, not just follow a process that already exists.

The Stack

React, Next.js, .NET, Node.js, MSSQL, AWS (Lambda, EC2, RDS), GitHub Actions.

What I'm Looking For

  • 4-6 years in manual and automated testing of web applications, ideally B2B SaaS
  • Exposure to Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium (Playwright preferred)
  • API testing experience with Postman, Bruno, or similar
  • Comfortable with front-end JS frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular)
  • Some familiarity with Node.js back-end and SQL querying
  • Awareness of .NET integration (you don't need to be a developer, just able to navigate it)
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, AWS Amplify, or similar)
  • Familiarity with test management tools such as Zephyr or Qase

Bonus Points

  • Background in medical, health-tech, or 3D design/simulation environments (including gaming)
  • Exposure to agentic AI tooling in a QA context
  • Performance or security testing experience
