About the Opportunity
Our client is a boutique public practice accounting firm located in Melbourne's north-eastern suburbs. With a loyal and long-standing client base, the firm has built its reputation on personalised service, trusted advice, and strong client relationships.
Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accountant to join the team. This role offers the chance to work closely with a diverse portfolio of business and individual clients, providing tax, compliance, and advisory services while mentoring junior team members and contributing to the firm's ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of business, SME, and individual clients
- Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns
- Prepare and review BAS, IAS, FBT, and other compliance obligations
- Provide tax planning and business advisory services
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Liaise directly with clients regarding taxation, compliance, and business matters
- Review work completed by junior accountants and provide guidance and mentoring
- Assist with workflow management and meeting client deadlines
- Identify opportunities to add value and improve client outcomes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 4+ years' experience within a public practice accounting environment
- CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting standards
- Experience managing client relationships and handling complex matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficiency with Xero, Xero Tax, MYOB and Microsoft Office
- A proactive and client-focused approach
