POSITION SUMMARY

This role is a subject matter expert in AI and cloud technologies and leverages data-driven insights to drive business decisions to develop innovative solutions using AI services. As an AI technologist, this role is responsible for adopting machine learning models, analysing large data sets and deploying AI solutions to enhance third party applications.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in data science with a focus on machine learning and AI.
• Data & AI certification:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate is required.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate is required.
  • Other cloud platform AI/ML certifications is preferred.

Experience/Expertise

• Strong programming skills in SQL, Python and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Proficiency in Azure AI and App services, including Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI Services, AI Foundry, MLOps, Azure functions and containers.
• Experience building scaffolding applications using LLMs in production.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• A passion for continuous learning and self-improvement in the field of data science and AI.

KEY RESULT AREAS (KRAs) AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and Develop (40%)

• Utilize AI services and tools to extract, preprocess, and analyse large datasets.
• Develop, test and deploy machine learning and AI pipelines to solve complex business problems.
• Design, test and deploy Agentic AI solutions in Azure platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Build Copilot Agents in M365 and Copilot Studio for production use.
• Evaluate and select appropriate machine learning algorithms, LLMs, tools and techniques based on project requirements.
• Work with data team and build data pipelines to source appropriate data for AI solution.
• Data quality management to ensure secure, anonymous use of training data to create unbiased models.

Service Delivery (20%)

• Responsible for planning, delivery, and ongoing efficacy of AI related strategic innovation objectives.
• Technical responsibility for the methods and approaches taken to address these objectives, and how success is measured against them.
• Ensure methods are kept up to date and test new industry benchmarks as they become available.

Collaboration (20%)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for applying AI solutions to enhance business processes and operations.
• Work with IT team to develop and productionise AI solutions.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and compelling visualizations and presentations.

Innovation (20%)

• Perform model evaluation, validation, and optimization to achieve desired performance metrics.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Azure AI technologies and machine learning methodologies.
• Identify and suggest new AI products and tools as appropriate for the business.
