Senior Automation Tester - SDET

About the Role:
As a Senior Automation Tester - SDET, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our software solutions are reliable, secure, and performant. You'll design and implement automation strategies across UI, API, and backend services, integrate testing seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to uphold the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, enterprise-grade test automation frameworks for user interfaces, APIs, and backend systems.
• Define and continuously refine comprehensive test strategies covering unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, security, and resiliency tests.
• Perform end-to-end testing of applications hosted in AWS environments, validating functionality across integrated cloud services.
• Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines, ensuring rapid feedback and thorough coverage.
• Design and execute load, performance, and scalability tests to validate system responsiveness, stability, and autoscaling capabilities.
• Conduct security testing aligned with secure SDLC practices, identifying vulnerabilities and supporting remediation efforts.
• Analyze failures using logs and metrics, proactively identifying risks and driving resolution in partnership with engineering teams.
• Ensure testing documentation meets regulatory, compliance, and audit standards, providing necessary evidence and reports.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to provision, manage, and automate test environments utilizing Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Promote best practices in DevOps, QA, and automation across teams; mentor junior testers and lead by example in automation excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Extensive experience as a Senior SDET or in similar roles with a proven track record of leading automation initiatives.
• Strong hands-on experience working with AWS environments in enterprise or production settings.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native, microservices, and distributed system architectures.
• Strong expertise in test automation design and implementation, particularly with Playwright, Selenium, and related frameworks.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript and Java.
• Extensive experience testing APIs and backend services in complex, distributed systems.
• Proven ability to integrate automated testing into enterprise-level CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with load and performance testing tools and methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of security testing principles and secure software development practices.
• Experience in regulated industries like financial services, healthcare, government, or insurance, with familiarity supporting audit and compliance activities.
• Solid skills in SQL databases such as MySQL and Oracle.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
• Familiarity with observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing).
• AWS certifications (Developer, DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect) are a plus.

Desired Additional Skills:

• Experience testing microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or SOX.
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools for system health and performance.
