What You’ll Bring:
• CPA or CA qualification, with strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and relevant compliance regulations
• Expertise in GST & FBT, coupled with a relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Strategy, Management, Community Housing, Property Development, or equivalent experience
• Proven ability to support change and innovation, delivering creative, best-practice solutions
• Significant financial management experience in complex or growing organisations
• Extensive experience leading finance teams, with a track record of developing team performance plans
• Skilled in preparing financial statements, policies, and procedures, alongside strong financial controls
• Proficiency in a range of financial software, including Excel, Access, Word, and other Microsoft packages
• Ability to develop and manage business plans, execute strategic initiatives, and prepare comprehensive management, business, and regulatory reports
Nice to Have Skills:
• Experience working within the community, public, or private housing sectors, or relevant transferable fields
• Knowledge of grant management and funding funder requirements
• Ability to quickly acquire new skills related to strategy and business planning
• Contextual understanding of regulatory requirements affecting financial reporting in the not-for-profit sector
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Strategy, Management, or community-focused disciplines
• Demonstrated success in similar senior financial roles with at least 5 years’ experience in managing finances within complex, fast-growing organisations
• Experience leading and mentoring teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment
