An exciting opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst to join a boutique technology consultancy delivering projects across data, analytics, business intelligence and data governance.

We're looking for someone who can bridge the gap between business and technology, working across multiple client projects to understand business requirements, engage stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions.

This is a genuinely hybrid BA role, combining technical understanding with strong business engagement and stakeholder management. You don't need to be a data engineer or Power BI specialist, but you do need to be comfortable working in technical environments and collaborating with data and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple concurrent client projects, supporting initiatives spanning data, analytics, BI and data governance.

  • Engage directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements, challenges and desired outcomes.

  • Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements for delivery teams.

  • Collaborate with data engineers, developers and technical consultants to ensure solutions align with business objectives.

  • Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering sessions and stakeholder discussions.

  • Support data governance initiatives, including data quality, reporting and information management.

  • Challenge requirements where necessary, manage expectations and confidently navigate competing stakeholder priorities.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Technical Business Analyst, ideally within a technology consultancy or client-facing environment.

  • Strong understanding of data and analytics environments, with exposure to Power BI, data platforms, reporting or data governance highly regarded.

  • Ability to work comfortably across both business and technical teams, translating requirements between the two.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to challenge, influence and build relationships.

  • Experience managing competing priorities across multiple projects or workstreams.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and requirements gathering capabilities.

  • A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to operate in a fast-paced consulting environment.

We're open to mid-level Business Analysts who bring the right combination of technical capability, curiosity and strong interpersonal skills.

Above all, we're looking for a people person. Someone who can build trust with clients, understand what the business is trying to achieve and confidently work with technical teams to deliver the right outcomes.

Location: Melbourne preferred, Sydney considered
