A leading Australian food manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Test Manager with deep UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) platform experience to lead and execute a structured testing programme across a major UKG implementation. Operating across large-scale manufacturing and distribution operations, the business is undertaking a significant investment in its workforce management and HR/payroll capability — and quality is critical to getting it right.
This is a genuinely technical role — you will be writing and maintaining test scripts yourself, not just overseeing others. You will work closely with functional consultants, developers, and business stakeholders across manufacturing sites to ensure quality is embedded from requirements through to go-live. This is a 12-month fixed term contract based in Brisbane.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, write, and maintain detailed functional and regression test scripts across UKG modules (Workforce Management, HR/Payroll, or Pro WFM depending on scope)
  • Lead end-to-end test execution across SIT, UAT, and regression cycles
  • Manage defect triage and resolution, working directly with developers and UKG consultants to resolve issues efficiently
  • Build and maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects
  • Define and enforce test standards, entry/exit criteria, and sign-off processes
  • Produce clear, concise test reporting and status updates for senior stakeholders
  • Collaborate with business SMEs during UAT, facilitating sessions and capturing outcomes
  • Identify and escalate risks to quality or delivery timelines proactively
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the QA practice and test artefacts

Required Experience & Skills
  • Proven hands-on experience with UKG — particularly UKG Workforce Management / Pro WFM in a manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG environment
  • Strong test script writing ability — this is a core deliverable, not a secondary task
  • Demonstrated experience leading QA across complex enterprise system implementations
  • Solid understanding of UKG configuration, data structures, and common integration points
  • Experience across multiple test phases: SIT, UAT, regression, and performance testing
  • Familiarity with defect management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach

Desirable (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with test management tools such as Zephyr, qTest, or ALM
  • Exposure to automation frameworks alongside manual testing capability
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent
  • Experience working within Agile or hybrid delivery environments
  • Background in manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, or similarly complex operational environments
